As spring rolls around, we all wish we could be doing this:
The nicer weather can make it difficult to sit in your chair at your desk knowing that the sun is shining. In order to break up the day – “hit refresh” and try one of these chair exercises! There are a few that strengthen your arms but also pay attention to that core, which we sometimes forget about while we’re sitting at our desk munching on a few snacks.
If your chair has wheels, be sure to lock those wheels for the chair lifts or push it up against a wall like the woman demonstrating a few simpler exercises in this article. These 5 chair exercises are easy to do during your afternoon or morning break.

According to a New York Times article titled “To Stay on Schedule Take a Break”, breaks are essential to ensure that you don’t reach the bottom of your “mental barrel.” James Levine of the Mayo Clinic, interviewed by the Times, reminds us that we are designed to be mobile entities, so while we love our chairs, let’s be sure to get that exercise or take a stretch.
